History

Bruce Clark, creator and owner of The Muskoka Store created the "Walter Page" brand in memory of his Great Grandfather Walter Page who discovered Muskoka back in 1899. Walter Page owned "Walter Page & Son" and was an important builder in Toronto who built Heart House for the University of Toronto and was involved in building other important landmarks like Casa Loma.

As a teenager Bruce Clark first opened Muskoka Windsurfing out of his family's Strathallan home "garage" in Toronto.

As a response to the growing demand for furniture, giftware, watersports and beach oriented fashions, in 1978, Bruce Clark opened The Muskoka Store with his family at our present location of 2266 Hwy 11 South, Garvenhurst, Ontario. Simply put, the response was tremendous!

Over the years, new watersports, furniture designs, giftware ideas, clothing and more have been added to the mix, and we’ve had a chance to test all the latest greatest gear. Staff members have come and gone, we’ve met tens of thousands of like-minded Cottage enthusiasts… And in doing so made a ton of friends along the way.

So be sure to think of The Muskoka Store the next time you’re looking for a new Wakeboard, Roxy bathing suit, Log Bunkbed, a Moose or Bear patterned fabric, Vintage signs, Muskoka and Georgian Bay books, etc. … Or just want to swing by for a free cup of Muskoka Coffee and see what’s new… It’d  be great to see you again. ;-)

Thank you
Bruce Clark and family 2011
