LOG HOUSES
CANADIAN CLASSICS
Peter Christopher & Richard Skinulis
|
These log houses seem to rise out of the landscape as if they grew there. Many of these grand old structures were abandoned in the first half of the twentieth century, but in recent decades there has been renewed interest in preserving them and in building new log homes. In fact, something of a log-building renaissance has occurred in many parts of the country. Canadians have restored and handcrafted some of the most beautiful log houses in the world, and we're proud to present many of the finest and most interesting in this gorgeous large-format pictorial, with a text by Richard Skinulis discussing historic and modern building techniques used in log houses across Canada.
