Morning Song

Morning Song The morning mist is caught in the glow of the rising sun. A pair of loons cruise the lake in the search of food; one greets the new day with a vigorous flapping of wings. Their haunting song completes the scene as it echoes across the lake. The presesnce of loons is a sign of a healthy lake, one that is rich in food in order for them to survive. The destruction of our lakes through acid rain and other forms of pollution is causing the loons to retreat to more remote surroundings.
